Lipley Farm Safari Tent Glamping Lipley, Market Drayton, Shropshire, England, UK
The five Feather Down tents are backed into Rushymoss Wood, home to many cuckoos and woodpeckers. The wood makes the tents feel sheltered, while the view from each is uninterrupted. Groups have often commented on how well the layout works for them.
Each Frills tent will have the unique homespun feel that Feather Down has come to be known for, but the style is slightly more sumptuous. Additions to the tents include a Feather Down Lounger; a verandah that adds a third of the tent’s size to its frontage; a private hot tub next to your tent and a private rustic wood fired shower. Set in a beautiful field, this takes place under the huge, star-filled sky.
Made of thick, protective canvas, our tents keep the warmth in without shutting the sounds of nature out, so you can wake up with everything around you. After a comfortable, curative sleep, you greet the day feeling refreshed and relaxed.
Our tents are cosy, calm places to start the day. From the moment you begin to stir, you’ll be struck with a sense of time and space – time to take it slow, space to let the day unfold. This is just the beginning of your rural retreat.
Soon you’ll be witnessing the passion our farmers and country estate owners have for tending to their livestock and produce or country estates. And as all our guests find they do, you’ll slow your hasty city pace, as you become familiar with their gentler way of life.

Our Farm Larder is stocked with fresh food for you to make up meals at any time of day. We have sausages, bacon and burgers that are produced at our local farm shop and eggs are of course free to collect from the chicken coop, which is communal. Groups also love the communal fire pit that brings everyone together in the middle of the field. Wood for this can be scavenged out of ‘The Moss’ – as the locals call the wood.
We've also added private chicken coops here for your own private egg supply during your stay.
Bishop’s Wood, at the end of the road, is a 999-acre Church Commission woodland that is completely accessible to the public – see if you can find the Giant’s Chair or the wind chimes here. In the local village of Cheswardine you can sample the ales from Market Drayton’s Joules Brewery and good pub grub at the cosy Fox and Hounds, while the Red Lion is home to the Lion’s Tail Brewery – sample a pint of their Lion Bru! The village is a pleasant 40-minute walk across the fields, or just three miles by road.
Should you decide to stir yourself from the soporific slumber induced by our surroundings, then the charms of Shrewsbury, the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge, and great biking on the Shropshire Way all beckon within half an hour.
